Sunday Business To Undergo Revamp
The Sunday Business will be undergoing a revamp over the next couple of weeks as it celebrates its first birthday this weekend. A TV listings section will be launched along with special editorial for small and medium-sized businesses. There will also be an expanded IT and economics section.
A spokesman for the title told Newsline that it has recently been experiencing a 2-3% growth in sales per week, along with a week on week profit, and was on track for a circulation of 80,000 by the middle of the year. Despite this, the paper has recently shed a large chunk of its ad sales force and its chairman and most recent investor Luke Johnson has stood down. He will retain his share in the Sunday Business, around 25%, but will no longer play an active role in its management.
Newsline has also learned that the paper will begin publishing an ABC when it reaches sales of 150,000. This target is expected to be reached early next year.
