Sunday Times Joins Price War
News International yesterday halved the cover price of the Sunday Times to 50p. The newspaper claims that the price cut was a one-off timed to coincide with the serialisation of the Prince of Wales biography and that next weekend it will return to £1.
The latest ABCs for September, released on Friday, show the Sunday Times circulation up by 5.8% on August to 1,233,231. Its nearest rival the Sunday Telegraph was down by 0.8% to 680,591, while the Observer rose by 3.7% to 477,093.
News International printed 2 million copies of yesterdays Sunday Times.
