Sunday Times Magazine relaunches with ad campaign

The Sunday Times Logo News International is set to re-launch its Sunday Times Magazine supplement with a new TV, press and outdoor advertising campaign.

The re-launch, which follows on from the Sunday paper’s redesign earlier this year (see Sunday Times Set For Full-Colour Relaunch), will feature a revamped front cover, more features and investigations, a more image-focused contents page and an updated layout.

It will also include a new 12-page colour photography pull-out called Spectrum, and more regular features to add to the popular ‘Relative Values’ and ‘A Day in the Life of’.

The Sunday Times Magazine was the first national newspaper colour supplement when it launched in 1962.

The marketing campaign for the re-launch is set to include TV spots, point-of-sale advertising, email, in-paper and around 250,000 copies of a special ‘Best of …’ supplement on offer in a giveaway promotion.

In the latest ABC results, the Sunday Times reported a circulation of around 1.2 million copies, which is nearly double the amount as its nearest competitor in the quality Sunday market sector (see ABC National Newspaper Round-Up: September 2008).
