Sunday Times Plans September Relaunch For Style
The Sunday Times is to relaunch its Style section in September, promoting the new look with a £2m marketing campaign.
The new version of the supplement will have more pages- 68 as opposed to the current 48- and will be a larger, 21 x 30 cm, format. The paper quality will also be increased for both the pages and the cover.
John Trickett, group advertisement director for Times Newspapers commented: “The new Style will allow us to meet the demands of the luxury goods and fashion industries to a much greater extent. The improved quality of Style means we can improve our commercial approach and be more innovative, offering increased opportunity for advertising next to editorial and for more creative concepts.”
According to recent NRS figures, the Sunday Times has 1.27m ABC1 female readers and reaches a higher percentage of 25-54 year old women than Vogue, Harpers & Queen, Vanity Fair and Tatler put together.
Tiffanie Darke, editor of the Style section, said that the revamped version would be “Grown up, glamorous and sexy. It will be a thinking-woman’s guide to the latest trends and will recognise the fact that our readers are busy women with careers and families. They are discerning consumers with not much time on their hands.”
