Sunday Times To Sponsor England Rugby
The Sunday Times is to become the official newspaper of England Rugby after securing a three-year joint sponsorship deal with the Rugby Football Union.
The deal will give the Sunday Times exclusive sponsorship rights across the Zurich Premiership and England international matches throughout the season. It will include advertising rights to match programs and perimeter banners in twelve rugby clubs across the UK.
As a condition of the deal the Sunday Times has also agreed to promote the sport through handbooks and a fantasy rugby competition. The Rugby Football Union hopes will raise the profile of the sport and attract new players and spectators.
As part of the recent relaunch the Sunday Times raised it’s price by 20p. It also expanded its sports section, relaunched its Style supplement (see Sunday Times Plans September Relaunch For Style) and added a new motoring supplement, called Driving (see
