Sunset Radio Licence Cut

Sunset Radio Licence Cut

The Radio Authority (RA) has shortened the licence period for ethnic station, Sunset Radio, accusing it of providing misinformation about accounts and management.

The Manchester-based station is the first of the independent ventures to be penalised by the RA, which has the right to issue warnings and revoke licences at any time during the licence period. Sunset will go off the air at the end of this year having been in operation since 1989 to cater for specific music tastes. “It is a very serious move to shorten a licence” the Authority warns.
