Swearing Today
Anna Ford, a presenter on Radio 4’s Today Programme, has been reprimanded for saying ‘shit’ while on-air. The Broadcasting Standards Commission upheld the complaints of viewers, and said that there had been no justification for the bad language.
In a separate case, three viewers complained about a sex scene in McCallum, a drama about a pathologist. The BSC found that the length of the scene, and the erotic manner in which it had been presented, went beyond acceptable boundaries. The complaints were upheld.
