Sylvia Auton returns to IPC media, Evelyn Webster moves to Time Inc in NY

Sylvia Auton is resuming her duties as chief executive officer of IPC Media, and Evelyn Webster is moving to New York to take up a position with Time Inc.

After four years as executive vice president of Time Inc, Sylvia Auton is returning to the UK to resume her duties as chief executive officer of IPC Media, starting from 1st January 2011. She will remain as Chairman of IPC Media.

Auton said: “I’m really looking forward to working once more with the IPC Media board to lead this fantastic company and its people and build on the great work that has been done over the last two years.”

Evelyn Webster, chief executive officer of IPC Media, is moving to the US as executive vice president of the lifestyle division, reporting to Jack Griffin, chief executive officer of Time Inc, also effective on 1 January.

Webster said: “I am thrilled to have been offered the opportunity to join Time Inc’s senior team as EVP of the Lifestyle Division. My 18 years at IPC have been a privilege, especially the last 20 months as CEO when I have been able to lead such a strong team during our transformation into a truly multi-platform company. I know IPC has a great future, and in Sylvia, I couldn’t be handing it back to a better leader.”
