Talk Radio has announced that it has joined Digital One, the digital radio consortium formed last week by GWR Group and Ginger Media (subscribers see GWR And Ginger Create Digital Consortium).
Paul Robinson, managing director of Talk Radio, comments: “Digital is unquestionably the future of radio and clearly presents many exciting opportunities in the future. Talk Radio has been closely involved with GWR over the past few months in their piloting of digital radio trials. We are now delighted to be joining Digital One with Classic FM, GWR and Virgin.”
If successful in its bid, Digital One will provide at least four new national digital-only radio stations. The group’s application will state that it will begin broadcasting in 1999.
