TalkSPORT Secures Citroen For New Berlingo Promotion

TalkSPORT has secured Citroen for a week long promotion which will highlight the car manufacturer’s new Berlingo van.
The promotion will be based around a competition offering listeners the opportunity to win a brand new Citroen van and will run across the station’s new drivetime programme, hosted by former international footballer, Tony Cascarino (pictured) and Patrick Kinghorn.
The deal was negotiated by Martin Muncaster, sponsorship and promotions executive at talkSPORT’s sales house, Impact, along with Ben Barker, media manager at OMD UK.
Commenting on the initiative, Muncaster said: “The promotion has sparked a lot of excitement amongst our listeners and it promises to be a very lively competition that effectively gets across the ‘no job too big’ message of Citroen Berlingo vans.”
He added: “It’s a great example of how we can provide bespoke campaigns on talkSPORT that work for our clients in a way that is impossible on other stations.”
TalkSPORT recently extended its agreement with Fiat Light Commercial Vehicles to sponsor SportsWatch, a twice daily sports news bulletin on the station (see TalkSPORT Extends Fiat Sponsorship Deal).
The latest RAJAR figures for the first quarter of 2003 brought mixed news for talkSPORT which saw its weekly reach decline by 7.4% year on year to 2.2 million and its share of listening remaining static at 1.7%.
