TalkSPORT Secures Vauxhall For Sponsorship Deal

TalkSPORT has secured Vauxhall Vans for a £750,000 sponsorship of the station’s Premiership football coverage in the afternoons.

This campaign will see Vauxhall sponsor in the station’s Football First and, for the London area only, commentaries of Chelsea, Spurs and Fulham games.

Vauxhall Vans, which will be promoting the Vauxhall Vivaro throughout the football season, will also sponsor the “Fan in the Van” feature that invites listeners to provide pre and post-match analysis during the early kick-off show.

Commenting on the deal, Adam Roland, head of sponsorship and promotion at talkSPORT’s sales house, Impact, said: “We are thrilled Vauxhall Vans are increasing their presence on the station. Research from their previous sponsorships proves how successful they have been in driving home the message to male football fans.”

He continued: “As a result, our millions of listeners are more likely to equate Vauxhall Vans with football than they would with any other make of van. The product is right, the message is right and the medium works like no other.”

Steve Payne, account manager at Initiative which negotiated the deal, added: “Our sponsorship of Fan in the Van has proved to be incredibly successful in terms of developing an association between Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles and football, the driving passion of our consumers. By expanding our involvement we hope to strengthen that bond further, using talkSPORT as a springboard for product launches, promotions and retailer events”
