Condé Nast has appointed Catherine Ostler, former editor of the Evening Standard’s ES magazine, as the new editor of Tatler.
Ostler is set to replace Geordie Greig, who stepped down from the role earlier this month to become the editor of the London Evening Standard, under new owner Alexander Lebedev.
Lebedev has also re-appointed managing director Andrew Mullins to continue in his role in the company set up by the Russian oligarch, once ownership has fully transferred from Daily Mail & General Trust.
Greig, who edited Tatler for almost a decade, will replace Veronica Wadley as editor of the Standard once the transition to Lebedev is complete.
Ostler was chosen as Greig’s replacement at Tatler from a shortlist of seven candidates, which is also thought to of included columnist Toby Young and writer William Cash.
Ostler started editing ES in 2002 – prior to that she was a features writer with the Daily Mail.
