Taxi Media Appoints New Group Sales Manager

Taxi Media has appointed Wendy Asiedu to the newly created role of group sales manager and has hired two sales managers as part of a move to expand the company.

In her new role Asiedu, who has been a sales executive at the company for four years, will take on responsibility for sales across the agency’s portfolio of around 10,000 taxis. She will report to sales director Lloyd Keisner and will work with a team of eight to increase the agency’s exposure.

The company has also hired Darren Cowley and Sibel Olcer as sales managers. Cowley joins from Sunday Business, where he was a senior executive and Olcer joins from Media Insight Outdoor, where she was a trainee planner and buyer.

Keisner said: “The promotion of Wendy and the new appointments are part of Taxi Media’s general expansion. We are holding our own in the face of the current advertising downturn and our figures show that we are performing better than other media. A greater diversity of clients are using taxi advertising, allowing the sector to become increasingly high profile.”

He added: “Over the next year we will be concentrating on maintaining our market share. We are confident that the medium will expand and that Taxi Media will see a small amount of growth, but the success of the sector is largely due to factors beyond our control.”

Taxi Media recently launched an initiative launched allowing brands to target taxi customers with product-filled tip up seats (see Taxi Media Launch Tip Up Seats). Highland Spring was the first advertiser to make use of the tip up seats, which are hermetically sealed and filled with mineral water.
