Taxi Media Moves Into Modern Art

Taxi Media has secured a deal with UBS Warburg to promote the Andy Warhol exhibition at the Tate Modern in London.

The deal, which will run from 4 February to 4 March, is the company’s first month-long fully liveried campaign and will feature 16 red liveried taxis carrying Andy Warhol’s signature as well as details of the exhibition at the Tate Modern.

Taxi Media’s sales director, Lloyd Keisner, said: “UBS Warburg’s choice of taxis to advertise the Andy Warhol exhibition is particularly appropriate as taxi advertising is highly visible and dominates many central city areas. Most importantly taxis are seen by a wide audience ranging from young people and the business community to shoppers and commuters.”

A recent report from outdoor buying agency, Blade, showed that revenue for the entire outdoor industry was down by 2.5% to £670m in 2001. According to the report, roadside and ambient were badly effected by the difficult economic conditions in 2001, while bus and taxi advertising experienced “modest growth” over the course of the year (see Outdoor Revenue Falls But Outlook Is Positive).
