Matt Teeman will take over from Ashley Munday as director of advertising sales at BBC Magazines.
Teeman, who has been acting director since December, will oversee a team of 100 plus ad sales professionals and will be responsible for advertising revenue for over 25 magazines.
UK market-leading titles include Radio Times, Good Food, Top Gear, Top of the Pops and CBeebies Weekly.
Teeman joined BBC Magazines as a senior sales executive on Radio Times in 1993 and performed a variety of roles, from deputy ad manager on Radio Times to commercial manager on Beeb.com, then ad director for BBC Magazines. He left the BBC for a short time to work on Wired magazine in the mid-90s.
Munday will take up new UK publishing responsibilities for the division, the details of which are to be announced later this year. He joined BBC Magazines in 1982 as sales executive on Radio Times and in 1994 was appointed ad director, publisher in 1998 and publishing director of the title in 2000. He then became director of advertisement sales in 2004.
Peter Phippen, managing director at BBC Magazines said: “I’m… delighted to announce Matt’s promotion. He is one of the outstanding figures in advertising sales, and he will prove to be a great leader of one of our industry’s best sales teams.”
