Teenage ABCs – Sugar’s Success

Sugar, the teenage magazine launched by Attic Futura last October, has released an impressive first ABC of 262,477, making it the second highest selling title in the market. Emap’s More still dominates the market, with a January to June ABC of 416,167, up by 5.7% year on year.

Emap has been less succesful with Just Seventeen, it’s ABC was down by 6.3% to 244,573. As a result there are now rumours of an imminent revamp for the magazine. Emap has yet to confirm or deny these rumours. IPC’s Nineteen has stayed above the 200,000 mark with an increase of 5.07% to 203,836. Mizz, IPC’s other teenage title, lost circulation down by 5.09% to 183,818. Emap’s 3 titles together account for 51.3% of the teenage market. IPC, with 2 magazines takes 22.4% and DC Thomson, also with 2 titles takes 11.2%. Newcomer Attic Futura takes 15.1%.
