Telegraph Gets Daily Sports Supplement
The Daily Telegraph is set to become the first broadsheet to publish a separate sports supplement every day of the week. From 15 May the paper will launch a eight-page stand-alone supplement from Tuesday to Friday.
The Telegraph was the first UK newspaper to introduce a separate sports supplement, when it launched a Monday edition in 1990. Its Saturday sports supplement was also a first in 1998 and marked the paper as a leader in sports journalism.
Charles Moore, editor of the Telegraph, said: “This is the most exciting development in the Daily Telegraph‘s sports coverage since I became editor in 1995. A separate sports section every day will reassert the paper’s pre-eminence in sport and give a unique benefit to our readers.”
The launch will be supported by a TV advertising campaign across Sky Sports, ITV and Channel 4.
