Telegraph May Bid For Independent

As the Independent directors meet today to consider the two rival bids for the troubled papers, it has emerged that The Telegraph is also considering a move. An announcement is expected today.

An article in today’s Telegraph quotes a senior executive as saying Conrad Black, owner of the Telegraph, was in touch with the board of Newspaper Publishing, and that the proposal was a “very attractive one.”
