Telegraph Sells Stake In Carlton

The Telegraph, publisher of the Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and Spectator, has sold its holding of 1.21m ordinary shares in Carlton Communications. The sale price was £10.9m, with the Telegraph making a pre-tax profit of £7.54m.

The Telegraph acquired the stake in September 1994, when it exchanged its 5% holding in Carlton Television and outstanding loan stock for 1,213,101 Carlton shares.
