Telegraph To Sponsor Kavanagh QC

The Daily Telegraph is to become the first broadsheet newspaper to sponsor a major ITV drama with the announcement of a new deal to sponsor the second series of Carlton’s peak time drama, Kavanagh QC.

The second series of six 90-minute episodes starts on Monday 26th February and will be broadcast between 8.30pm and 10.00pm. Starring John Thaw, the series previously attracted an average audience of 13.5 million viewers per week, with a 52% audience share.

The deal was negotiated by David Prosser, Head of Sponsorship at Carlton and Paul Woolfenden, Promotions Director at The Telegraph. David Prosser commented: “The arrival of a broadsheet newspaper as a major sponsor is a significant step for ITV sponsorship and in particular for ITV drama. There is a good link between the Telegraph and a quality drama like Kavanagh and I am in no doubt that this sponsorship will create a very strong package for them.” Sponsorship credits will feature a 15-second opening credit, six 5-second break bumpers and an end credit of 10 seconds.
