Telewest today announced fourth quarter 1997 operating figures which show that its cable TV service has seen a growth in subscribers of nearly 90,000 to 687,352. There was, however, a slight drop in penetration – down 0.6% points to 22% while the churn rate rose 0.6% to 34%.
There was a huge growth in Telewest’s Internet customers, where there was an increase of 857% to 16,713. The company also said that its ‘Front Row’ pay-per-view movie service would be available to its subscribers on 2 February.
