Telewest Fourth Quarter Results Delivering On Target, Says Singer
Cable company Telewest Communications this morning issued fourth quarter operating statistics, ahead of its annual preliminary results due on 22 March 2001. The company added 37,557 residential customers in the last quarter of the year, taking the total to 1.7 million. The recently introduced high speed internet service – Blueyonder – has also met with high demand: 4,599 customers arrived in Q4, taking the total to 6,893.

Commenting on the results, Adam Singer, chief executive, said: “These figures show that Telewest is delivering on target. Digital sales were 377,664 at the year end and we remain confident of achieving 500,000 sales in the first quarter. Our focus on customer service and the launch of our new digital pricing and packaging is starting to reap benefits.”
At midday today Telewest stock was up 3¾p at 149¾p.
