Telewest Homes In On ITV Digital Customers

Telewest is aiming to cash in on the uncertainty facing ITV Digital (see Administration For ITV Digital Confirmed) by offering the administration-bound platform’s customers the chance to sign up for its broadband services.

The company has set up a free hotline for ITV Digital customers, suggesting that they should sign up to its TV, phone and internet package and is offering half price installation for its Essentials package.

A notice on the ITV Digital website informs customers that their services will not be affected while the administrators “conclude a series of negotiations with its suppliers to restructure [the company’s] business costs”. Adding that their money will be protected by law, it goes on to advise customers to do nothing at the moment, before stating “We are not contemplating closing at this stage, the administration process is one which we hope will have a positive outcome, and allow us to continue to provide you with television services.” It concludes by saying that should any new customers still want to sign up to the ITV Digital service, they can do so.
