ITV1’s Dancing on Ice girls pulled in more than 9.7 million peak viewers last night, just beating the boys to the top spot, after they attracted 9 million peak viewers last Sunday (see Dancing on Ice returns with 9 million viewers).
More than 9.1 million average viewers tuned in to see the girls battle it out on the ice, securing the commercial broadcaster with a 34.3% audience share between 7.10pm and 8.30pm.
However, the audience share slipped down to 26.1% during the skate off an hour later, which saw Melinda Messenger and Gemma Bissix perform dance routines for a second time in a bid keep their place in the competition.
Bissix was finally kicked-off ITV1’s latest reality show, following a number of harsh comments from the judges – Nicky, Karen, Jason, Ruthie and Robin.
Elsewhere, the second episode of Wild at Heart, with Stephen Tompkinson and Lucy-Jo Hudson, pulled in 7.1 million average viewers and a 26.6% audience share between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, helping ITV1 to secure the peak audience for all of Sunday evening.
However, BBC One stole the crown on Saturday evening, holding on to the peak audience between 7.30pm and 11.15pm, with its classic weekend programmes including Casualty, The National Lottery and Match of the Day.
Meanwhile, Celebrity Big Brother picked up the highest ratings for Channel 4 all weekend, starting with more than 3.4 million peak viewers on Friday night’s eviction special.
Around 3.1 million average viewers tuned in to see Davina giving Tina her eviction notice, while 2.3 million average viewers stayed with the channel to watch her leave the house at the later time of 10.30pm.
