The European Has Two Partnership Options
The Barclay brothers-owned weekly newspaper, The European, is understood to be considering two offers of business partnership: one from Bloomberg and the other from Time Warner.
According to reports in Press Gazette, a deal is expected to be struck with one of the parties by this weekend, although no-one was available to comment when contacted by Newsline.
The European has been losing money since its launch in 1989, and was bought by the Barclays in 1992. The paper has been surrounded by speculation over its long-term ownership for some months.
