The Guardian Weekly Prepares To ‘Liven Up’

The Guardian Weekly is due for a fresh look in order to raise the profile of the Guardian brand overseas. The paper features the best of the Guardian’s weekly coverage, along with a selection of articles from the Washington Post and Le Monde.

The title celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, and from 4 July will have a livelier, more reader friendly design bearing more resemblance to its parent paper the Guardian. The front page will feature more colour and a new masthead, and a new comment and analysis section is also being introduced.

The Guardian Weekly’s UK circulation is currently just over 7,000, and the title sold 112,085 worldwide during the last ABC period.

Editor Patrick Ensor, commented: “With this redesign the Guardian Weekly will be firmly branded as the international weekly edition of the award-winning Guardian. It will look cleaner and more appetising without any sacrifice to the paper’s core values.
