The Saturday Times Gets Repackage And New Section

The Times‘ Saturday edition is to receive a considerable redesign and repackaging by owners News International. This weekend’s edition sees the launch of a new children’s supplement called Meg@ which follows hot on the heels of Metro, the new arts, entertainment and listings magazine. Go is to replace Car 97 covering “everything from motorbikes to yachts”. All this is part of the ongoing repackaging process which began in September.

The paper is to spend up to £10m on the project, the bulk of which will fund the relaunch of the Saturday Times Magazine. The new version of the magazine will be an extremely high-quality glossy of over a hundred pages each week. Editor Nick Wapshott describes the new-look magazine as “a cross between Vanity Fair and The New Yorker“.
