IPC Magazines is launching Uncut, a monthly magazine that hopes to bring together music and movies in one package.

The title will cater for discerning males between the ages of 25 and 45. Uncut intends to be an entertaining guide to all that’s best in music, movies, books, TV and hi-fi. It will be edited by Allan Jones, former editor of Melody Maker and will draw on the photographic archives of Melody Maker and NME.

Allan Jones said:Uncut will be hip, outspoken, stylish and definitive. It will celebrate all that’s best in music and movies both old and new, cult and classic. If Loaded is for men who should know better, Uncut will be for men who do know better and want to know even more.”

The title goes on sale on May 1 with an initial print-run of 100,000; it will be supported by a promotional campaign of £500,000.
