Thomson Directories Sold

Thomson Directories has been bought out by its management for £80 million. The management team is is backed by 3I, the UK’s largest provider of investment capital. The publication was bought from US West International who earlier in the year stated its intention to focus on its cable telephone and wireless communication business.

Headed by Gary List, Thomson Directories’ American chief executive, the management is thought to have put around £400,000 into the buy-out; this gives it a stake of around 25%.
