Three Advertisers Win Radio Award
Nike, the Independent on Sunday and COI Department of Transport have been chosen from the April selection of radio commercials for a monthly Aerial Award.
The judges for this month’s Aerials were Tim Brookes and Ben Priest, writers of the Hamlet ‘Petrol’ commercial which was a finalist in the 1995 Aerial Awards. The Nike ad was created by Simons Palmer Denton Clemmow & Johnson, the COI ad by DMB&B and the Independent on Sunday ad by M&C Saatchi.
Ben Priest said of the ads: “The thing that linked them all is that they were all spoofs, one of a wedding (Independent on Sunday), one of a psychiatrist (Nike) and one of a fairy tale (COI) and these were the ones that worked the best and stood out from others.”
