Tim Brooks, IPC ignite! managing director, is leaving the company to join Guardian Newspapers Limited as MD in mid September. He succeeds Carolyn McCall, who became chief executive of Guardian Newspapers parent company Guardian Media Group in August.
Tim has been running the men’s lifestyle and music division since 2002, producing titles such as Loaded, Nuts and NME. Prior to this he had been running the SouthBank portfolio, having joined IPC Media in 2000.
Commenting on the move, IPC Media chief executive, Sylvia Auton, said: “Tim has made an exceptional contribution to IPC over the last six years. I know I speak on behalf of all his board colleagues when I say that we are going to miss him enormously and we wish him nothing but the best in his new role.”
Brooks added: “IPC is not only the biggest but also the best magazine publisher in the UK, and I shall miss the people here a great deal. However, the opportunity at Guardian Newspapers is too good to refuse.”
