Times Circulation Approaches 700,000
News International’s Times had another good month in terms of circulation in August, with its figure fast approaching 700,000; its monthly figure was up by 13.5% year on year to 678,451, an increase of 3.4% or 22,000 copies on July.
Mid-market papers the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday continued to improve their monthly figures in August, with the Mail on Sunday up by 6% year on year and the Daily Mail up 4.5%; however, the Express titles continued to record falls in circulation, with the Daily Express down 5% year on year, and the Sunday Express down 7.8%.
Both the Independent titles have fared better than last August, with the Independent on Sunday recording the highest increase of any paper behind the Mail on Sunday and the Times; the IoS’s figure is up by 5% or 15,000 copies to 329,029.
