Times Continues Growth; Up 68.7%
The latest National Newspaper ABCs for August show the continuing effects of the price war, with the Times recording another massive increase year on year of 68.7% to 597,636. The Independent’s first full month at 30p increased circulation by over 31,000 on July’s figure, up 12% to 289,403, but this still represents a decrease of 11% year on year. The Telegraph also recorded an increase on July, up 6.2% to 1,091,658, also up 1.9% year on year.
The Sun recorded an ABC of 4,183,647, up 9.2% on August 1993, and slightly better than July’s figure.
