Times Sales Rise

The Times newspaper circulation has risen 20% since the price cut on Monday of this week, an increase of 70,000 copies.(Times’ own figures).

In a report in the Financial Times, research among newsagents shows sales for broadsheets to be up. Both The Guardian and Independent have increased their sales, with the Financial Times unaffected and the Telegraph losing an estimated 4% of sales.

Circulation for The Daily Star has risen since its sponsoring of ‘Pot of Gold’ by 8% from July to August, an increase of 59,000 copies. Current circulation for the Star is 816,000.

The circulation figures for August will be released on Monday at 4pm.
