The Internet edition of The Times has won the award for the “hottest and fastest Web site” in the UK. This comes as The Times claims that over 250,000 readers have registered at the site.
The Hot Off The Net trophy was presented to Mike Murphy, Internet Editor of The Times, and Christopher Lloyd, Internet Editor of The Sunday Times, at the staging of the inaugural UK Web Awards at BAFTA. The awards were sponsored by Yell, the Yellow Pages Guide to the Web and .net magazine. The Times Internet edition launched on January 1 (for review see The Times Launches Web Site).
