The national newspaper ABCs for February show a similar picture overall to the last few months; News International’s titles remain steady, with the Sun up 4.5% on last year and the Times up 34.7% on last year.

The Express titles continue in their decline, the Daily losing 7.8% year on year, and the Sunday Express down 12% year on year. The Mail gained 1% circulation year on year, with its Sunday sister up 1.9% year on year. The Daily Telegraph was up 4.2% on last February, and as in the last few months, the decline of the Independent appears to be slowing, losing below 1% to 290,118. The Sunday Sport was again one of the success stories, with an extra 28.7% compared to February 1994.

The new circulation breakdowns show the Daily Express sold only 88.4% of copies at the full rate, with 10.4% at a lesser rate and 1.2% multiple copies. The Sunday Telegraph sold 25.4% of its circulation at a lesser rate, and the Observer 8.4%.
