For today only, the Today newspaper has dropped its price to 10 pence as part of a game promotion called Midas Touch. Adverts appeared in last week’s Today newspapers for the promotion, but there was little television activity, Today told MediaTel.
The Today newspaper has launched the Midas Touch promotion campaign at a time when the latest circulation figures, for March, show a drop in circulation year on year for Today of -4.7%. Compared to February’s circulation figures, Today fared even worse, losing 5.8% or 33,855 copies. March’s circulation figure was the lowest Today has recorded since December 1993, when it was 540,765.
