Today Suffers In Tabloid Battle
Press reports suggest that Today newspaper has emerged the weakest of all the tabloids in the first week of a price war, started by The Sun last Monday.
The paper is thought to have lost 5-7% of sales last week, with Friday’s figure falling by 26,000 on the previous week’s sales. The Daily Star has also seen a drastic drop in circulation, falling by 23,000 during last week.
Sales for The Sun have been quoted as increasing by 270,000 on Tuesday and 275,000 on Wednesday, with a weekly average increase of 200,000.
