Total Guitar Plans Centenary Issue Giveaway

Future Publishing is giving away an all-expenses paid, three month place at an LA music school as well as guitars, amplifiers and effects equipment as part of the celebration of Total Guitar’s 100th issue.

The prize is the largest ever given away by the 8 year old title, which is the largest selling guitar magazine in Europe, reaching 33,000 according to the July-December 2001 ABC audit.

The magazine’s editor, Scott Rowley, said: “Since its launch in 1994, Total Guitar has become the leading guitar magazine in both the UK and Europe, growing its great reputation within the industry and among readers. These days, guitar playing has to compete with computer games and the internet for people’s time and money. We try to bring the same excitement and enthusiasm to playing the guitar as other Future Publishing mags bring to computer games and mountain biking.”

The anniversary issue also features the results of a “100 Greatest Guitarists” poll conducted by the magazine and a full transcription and backing track for Jimi Hendrix’s Purple Haze. It goes on sale on 6 August, priced £4.99.
