Trinity And Mirror Expected To Merge Sales

The sales houses of Trinity and Mirror are expected to unite when the merger between the two newspaper publishing groups reaches completion. Reports suggest that the two will be merged under Trinity’s sales house Amra.

If this were to occur a huge nationwide regional titles sales house would be created. At present 32% of the group’s papers, or 178 titles, are sold through Amra; Mediaforce (21%) and Mirror Group Newspapers (15%) are the next largest sales houses in the group.

A spokesperson for the group would not confirm details of a sales merger although last week they announced that a director has been appointed to oversee the changes. Meanwhile the group continued its merger process today when four directors formally announced their resignations. Non-executive directors Alan Clement and Lord Borrie, and executive directors Terry Connor and Stephen Barber resigned from the group as part of the requirements.
