Trinity Appoints Amra And Mediaforce For Thomson Sales

Trinity International Holdings has announced its plans for the national sales of its purchase of the Thomson Regional Newspapers.

AMRA has been appointed to handle all of the Cardiff based titles including the Western Mail, South Wales Echo and Wales on Sunday, plus the classified revenue for the Belfast titles, including Telegraph.

Mediaforce has been appointed to handle all Newcastle and Teesside titles; these include the Journal, Sunday Sun and the Evening Gazette. Provincial advertising agencies will be served by a new in-house Manchester operation, the basis of which will be the current TMS sales house.

These plans will only come into effect if the MMC enquiry approves the deal. This announcement is not expected until December.

Amra’s managing director, Roy Jeans, commented, “We are delighted to be representing pedigree newspapers such as the Western Mail and South Wales Echo and … they enable us to offer a Welsh and South West package.”
