TV Film Season Gets Sponsor

A new ITV Network prime-time film season, entitled Leading Ladies, is to be sponsored by Lil-Lets. The deal covers six movies to be broadcast from 23 July to September, on Saturday nights at 10.10pm. Films in the series include Working Girl with Melanie Griffiths, Black Widow with Theresa Russell and Debra Winger, and Alien and Aliens, both starring Sigourney Weaver. The season opens with Alien. The deal is worth around £0.5m. Lil-lets is the first sanitary protection television sponsor.

ITV NETWORK CENTRE APPOINTS NEW CHILDREN’S CONTROLLER

The ITV Network Centre has appointed LWT’s Vanessa Chapman to the new post of Controller, Network Children’s and Youth Programmes. Chapman is currently Editor of Factual programmes at LWT. Her new role will be to assess and commission programmes for young people.
