TV Overnights: 4.9m look at Lumley’s Nile

The big ratings winner in last night’s 9pm slot was Joanna Lumley’s Nile, with a peak of 4.9 million viewers – a 20.5% audience share.

An average of around 4.8 million viewers (a 19.8% share) watched the show, on for an hour on ITV1.

Over on BBC Two at the same time was new show Out of the Frying Pan, where James Knight Pacheco and Alasdair Hooper tested their professional skills as event caterers.

A peak of 1.4 million viewers (5.8%) tuned in, with an average of 1.2 million (5.2%) sticking with it for its hour running time.

Also on at 9pm, BBC One’s classic old cops drama New Tricks‘s audience peaked at 4.1 million viewers (17%). An average of 3.8 million (15.9%) watched the hour long show.
