TV Overnights: 6m watch celebs get out of there!

ITV1’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Coming Out show attracted over six million viewers in the all-important prime-time slot last night.

The hour-long show, which captured the contestants coming out of the jungle and being reunited with their friends and family, peaked with more than 5.5 million viewers on ITV1, with an extra 583,000 watching on ITV1 HD.

It beat BBC One’s penultimate Young Apprentice to the number one spot between 9pm and 10pm, with Alan Sugar’s show pulling in an average of 3.8 million viewers.

On BBC Two, an average audience of 1.4 million viewers tuned in for the RBS – Inside the Bank That Ran Out of Money documentary, securing a 5.9% share for the channel during the peak-slot.

Channel 4’s prime-time line up saw the first of two episodes of The Great British Property Scandal bank 1.7 million average viewers (including HD) and a 6.8% share between 9pm and 10pm, while the new series of The Million Pound Drop Live settled on 1.1 million average viewers and a 7.3% share.

Meanwhile, Charley Boorman’s Extreme Frontiers achieved a peak audience of just over a million viewers for Channel 5 in the 9pm to 10pm slot.

The soaps dominated the pre-watershed slots – with BBC One’s Eastenders taking the top ratings, peaking with 8.7 million viewers. However, ITV1’s Coronation Street wasn’t far behind with a high of 8.6 million viewers.
