BBC One was on top in the 9pm slot last night, with topical quiz show Have I Got News for You and sitcom Outnumbered both besting The Bill on ITV1.
Have I Got News for You, on for half an hour from 9pm, saw its audience peak at 5.3 million viewers (a 23.1% viewing share), with an average of 5.2 million (a 22.8% share) watching the whole show.
At 9.30pm, Outnumbered – starring some wise-cracking kids on a bus – had a peak of around 5 million viewers (a 22% share).
Over on ITV1 at 9pm for an hour was The Bill. Last night’s episode was the usual mix of thrills and spills from Sun Hill’s boys in blue, and managed to pick up a peak of 3.4 million viewers (a 15.2% share).
An average of 3.2 million viewers (a 14.2% share) stuck with the show for its duration.
