BBC One secured a peak-run during prime time last night with Eastenders, Holby City and Survivors.
Eastenders attracted an impressive high of more than 9.9 million viewers and a 40.5% average audience share between 7.30pm and 8pm.
The channel’s long-running hospital drama Holby City followed with over 6.5 million peak viewers and a 25.4% audience share, before Survivors, which pulled in 4.1 million peak viewers and a 15.4% share during the all-important 9pm to 10pm peak-hour.
Survivors saw off competition from BBC Two’s How Earth Made Us, Channel Five’s Crime Scene Investigation and Channel 4’s new documentary series One Born Every Minute.
Channel 4’s new six-part series, which observes the lives of staff and patients at Princess Anne maternity hospital in Southampton, managed to claim second place in the peak-hour ratings war with a high of more than 3.2 million viewers and a 11.8% average audience share.
BBC Two’s How Earth Made Us and Channel Five’s ever-popular drama CSI came in joint third with an equal 2.7 million average viewers and a 11.2% share each, leaving ITV1’s final Amanda Holden’s Fantasy Lives to come in last place with 2 million average viewers and a 8.4% share.
