TV Overnights: BBC One wins the 9pm slot with Have I Got News For You and Outnumbered

BBC One dominated the 9pm to 10pm peak-hour ratings last night with its double line-up of Have I Got News for You and Outnumbered.

The comedy quiz show with guest host Eamonn Holmes pulled in 5.6 million peak viewers and a 24.4% average audience share between 9pm and 9.30pm, before the last in the series of Outnumbered, which stars Claire Skinner and Hugh Dennis, picked up a high of 5.4 million viewers and a 23.9% share between 9.30pm to 10pm.

ITV1’s Thursday evening schedule came second place in the peak-hour ratings war.  The second episode of the new three-part series All at Sea with celebrities Nick Hancock, Dawn Porter and Bradley Walsh, attracted 3.6 million peak viewers and a 14.6% share.

Elsewhere, Channel 4’s penultimate How the Other Half Live pipped BBC Two’s History Cold Case to third place with 1.6 million average viewers and a 7.5% share between 9pm and 10pm.  History Cold Case, meanwhile, settled on 1.5 million average viewers and a 6.9% share.

Over on Five, the channel’s 9pm film The Invasion with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig pulled in 1.3 million average viewers and a 6.5% audience share.

Earlier on in the evening, the soaps dominated the pre-watershed slots.  BBC One’s Eastenders managed to beat ITV1’s Corrie to the top spot with an impressive 7.8 million peak viewers compared to Coronation Street‘s 7.3 million.
