TV Overnights: BBC One’s Mistresses wins the top spot

BBC One’s Mistresses won the peak slot of 9pm to 10pm last night, with the first episode of series three securing over 4 million viewers, and a 18% share.

ITV1 provided competition with Police, Camera, Action, attracting an audience of 3.3 million viewers, and a 14.5% share.

Meanwhile, BBC Two’s Victorian Pharmacy secured just over 2 million viewers and a 8.9% share, and Five’s The Hotel Inspector achieved an audience of almost 1.8 million and a share of 7.8%.

Channel 4’s Undercover Boss attracted an average viewing figure of 1.7 million viewers and a share of 7.6%

Earlier in the evening, ITV1 won the slot of 8pm to 9pm, with Emmerdale at 8pm (6.1 million viewers and 28% share) and Coronation Street at 8.30pm (6.8 million viewers and 29.6% share).

BBC One’s Eastenders, airing from 7.30pm to 8pm, won its slot with an average of over 8 million viewers, and a 39.3% share.

BBC One achieved top ratings for most of the morning, with ITV1 and BBC Two taking over in the afternoon as usual.
