Channel 4’s Big Brother: The Final won the peak slot of 9pm to 10pm last night.
The final episode of Big Brother 11 aired from 8pm to 10.50pm, attracting an average of just under 4 million viewers and a share of 17.7%, and peaking at 4.6 million viewers and a 24.4% share.
This was despite competition from ITV1’s The Bill, which was the first of a two-part series finale. It managed to secure 3.3 million viewers, and a 14.2% share.
BBC One’s The Deep, which had won the peak slot for the last two weeks, fell into third place. Last night’s episode drew in an audience of 3.2 million and a 13.6% share.
Elsewhere, BBC Two’s Treasures of the Anglo-Saxons attracted 2 million viewers and an 8.6% share, and Five’s CSI Trilogy: Part One secured 1.6 million viewers and a 6.6% share.
Earlier in the evening, BBC One won the 8pm to 9pm slot with Holby City managing an audience of 4.9 million, and a share of 21.1%.
BBC One’s Eastenders won its 7.30pm to 9pm slot, with 8.1 million viewers and a 38.8% share, and ITV1’s Emmerdale won its 7pm to 7.30pm slot, with 5.9 million viewers and a 30.9% share.
BBC One dominated throughout the morning, with BBC Two briefly taking over in the afternoon as usual.
