TV Overnights: Bumper night for BBC One

Holby City cast

BBC One dominated primetime viewing last night, with medical drama Holby City, on at 8pm, grabbing a peak of 5.9 million viewers – a 26.6% audience share.

At 7.30pm, a peak of 8.7 million viewers (40.6%) tuned into EastEnders to see Phil Mitchell’s kids dance around their living room to the ‘in’ sounds of Lady GaGa.

Panorama – Spoilt Rotten? at 9pm had a peak of 3.6 million viewers (15%). The show looked at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool and focused on children who had been admitted because of preventable health problems.

Over on ITV1 at 9pm, The Bill could only manage a peak of 3 million (12.7%), with an average of 2.8 million (11.8%) sticking with it for its hour running time.

Heston’s Fairytale Feast, on Channel 4 at the same time, saw an average of 2.7 million viewers (11.2%)  tune in for its hour duration.
